Groove tried to
revive their famous Taxi Cab but failed with the
Taxi 2000. Its design is too simple and does
not stand up to the Groove quality. Besides
their design, they are just a 82cm pair of
skiboards. When I rated then on the right, I
realized that the characteristics these were judged
in were not complete. The skiboards are short,
so they are slower then the longer ones. They
handle remarkably well, but taking big jumps on them
is foolish. However after one run in the
halfpipe I could not put them down. The small
size and huge side-cut grip the halfpipe walls and
spit you out with ease. They are much better
in powder then I anticipated, but probably a little
bit better the the Mike Nick Pros. I have seen
many little kids on them, but I would not recommend
them to the younger people, simply because the Taxi
2000 are very wide at the tips and tails, and this
will lead to a bad fall if the tips overlap.
Overall they are fun and you can do 360 on the
ground at full speed.
