MY SKIBOARD STORIES

After a long day this is the best picture my friend could pull off with his disposable camera.

May not look from the picture but the hill is near vertical and around 80 feet high.

This is me doing a moon walk off a 6 foot drop-off. I later realized that the landing was solid ice.

I love Snowblading, or Skiboarding. Everybody chooses to call the sport differently but it does not make much difference since the idea is the same.

SNOWBLADES - This is the common mane for Skiboarding in Europe. They are usually longer and narrower then Skiboards and are used on groomed slopes.

SKIBOARDS - Usually referred to shorter (80-90cm) Skiboards which are not as fast as Snowblades but enable you to carve like snowboarders and are easier to land.

I started Skiboarding in 1997, I did every slope at Mount Tremblant and got bored, I wanted to try something new. Skiboards were my answer. It took me one run to get used to them and by the end of the day I could pull off a FAKIE-BIO-360. I never touched the skis again.

After the season was over, i got myself a demo pair of Salomon BUZZ 90. Snowblades were great but i soon realized that they are missing something. I began searching for a perfect pair of Skiboards, and after trying 8 different pairs (read the reviews) I settled down with one which I hope to keep. Groove Green Taxi.

I line in the Mid-Atlantic area, where snow is a rare occurance, and do not have the cash to go to bis skiresort up north or ut west. Therefore my time on the snow is very limited. This page will be updated with more pictures of me and my friends on our Skiboards, but untill then check out the 8 Skiboard shoot-out!
